Fall Aeration is Key to a Thicker, Healthier Lawn Next Year

Fall is the perfect time for lawn aeration because less weed seeds are active, and it’s generally a cooler environment, which is less stressful on the lawn.

Core aeration helps loosen compacted soil, which can cause thinning grass and even brown patches. Over time your soil can be compacted by normal use and weekly maintenance. When the soil compacts, it won’t allow water and nutrients to penetrate the soil very deep. Core aeration opens up the soil allowing water and nutrients into the soil at a deeper level. Roots grow thicker, deeper and won’t dry out as quickly. Your grass will be healthier & thicker. Thick grass is the first line of defense to keep weeds out! Aeration will also reduce thatch build-up, and you’ll use less water keeping your lawn green, if you water your lawn.
