Fleas and ticks carry diseases that are harmful to our children, pets and us. Ticks may carry Lyme Disease, while fleas can carry Typhus. Both are diseases that humans do not want to contract! These pests usually live in your yard and on landscape plants. They especially love to hang out in tall grass where they can easily attach themselves to passing people and animals that brush against the grass blades.
There is a way to help prevent fleas and ticks from harming us. Sekulic offers flea and tick control applications for your lawn that are safe for pets and humans. We generally apply a liquid product onto the lawn and surrounding landscape to target the unwanted pests. It is best to allow the early Spring rains to subside and dry up before spraying. Our staff is trained and can decide the best time to spray, based on weather conditions. Multiple applications throughout the Summer will be needed to adequately provide a barrier to these pests.
It is important to understand that flea and tick control for your lawn is only the first line of defense. We can’t eradicate these pests totally from your yard. You should still be vigilant about checking your family and pets for fleas and ticks.
