Freshen Up Your Landscape With Mulch!
Mulching flower beds in the Spring improves curb appeal tremendously, but it also has several other benefits. Mulch provides a barrier to minimize weed growth. You’ll still have to pull some weeds, but not nearly as many with a proper layer of mulch added. Mulch also helps the ground to retain moisture longer. You’ll water plants less, saving time and water. Mulch is a great friend in the garden!
You have a lot of choices when it comes to mulch for your flower beds. Dyed hardwood mulch is very popular in our area. Natural mulches typically start to “gray” by the end of the season. The dye provides longer lasting color than plain natural hardwood mulch. In terms of price, dyed mulches are slightly more expensive, but not much when you consider how much longer the color usually lasts.
Mulch dyes are also safe for the environment and approved for use in landscapes.
